Aerotech (1986) was the second big expansion to the core Battletech rules. It added air combat and space combat. It included rules for Fighters, Dropships, and even LAMs. Best of all, it had rules for STRAFING. Unfortunately, we did not get rules for warship combat until "BattleSpace" in 1993. But back then, I had very little desire to conduct starship battles in Battletech... I rarely used Aerotech exo-atmpspheric rules. While Aerotech adds quite a bit of complexity to the basic game, it is also a really good game in its own rite. I always liked the movement system and maneuver diagrams. To be frank, I also think Aerotech is one of the better air-combat systems out there. What it added to Battletech was the idea of Air Superiority, and the value of airstrikes against formations of 'Mechs and ground Vehicles.
