There are a lot of custom designs out there. Half (or more) of the fun of Battletech has always been just making new 'Mechs. We've gone from the manual pencil and paper process to having several semi-automated applications. Some of the software I use to make 'Mechs is: REMLABMegaMekLabMech Factory is available for iOS To share, just drop files in this thread.

I like Hunchbacks. They carry a lot of firepower, and have really good armor for a 50 tonner. I did, however, wonder what I could do by replacing the AC-20 with a PPC. It turns out that by making the swap, I was able to add two medium lasers, a small laser, 6 heat sinks, and half ton of armor. Original HBK-4G Hunchback HBK-4G.mtf (1.67 KB) Modified HBK-4I Hunchback HBK-4I.mtf (1.68 KB) The PPC gives the Hunchback something most variants lack... RANGE. It also gets rid of those pesky ammo explosions (at 100 internal damage pts/ton). Of course, if you alpha, you'll overheat, but PPC's and Medium Lasers have different range envelopes, so it's not likely that a player will fire a PPC, 4 Mediums, and 2 smalls in one turn
.mtf files are formatted for MegaMekLab. They can also be read using notepad (or any other .txt reader).
