TRO: 3025 was pretty awesome when it came out back in 1986(?) Not only did it contain 55 Battlemechs, it also contained three LAMS! 3025 set the standard for all TRO's that followed (all sixty of them). The only thing missing from the 3025 was the Longbow. We all knew it should have been in there (after all, we all watched Robotech)

My theory on the 3025 'Mechs.
Why in the world would the house militaries still use the basic 3025 Battlemechs? Especially when they had better (and far uglier) 'mechs in 2750? It's like the USAF flying F-86's in 2021. Well, I figure all the good 'mechs from 2750 got trashed (or broke down) during the first War of Succession. The older 'mechs that fill the pages of the 3025 were in mothballs, or at best were in reserve units. There were also a hell of a lot of them, and they were easy to keep running.
